Business and Human Rights (Uruguay)
Spaces for dialogue and strategizing with Uruguayan civil society
We participate in collective processes, with civil society actors in Uruguay, to facilitate and open up spaces for conversation and strategy on the topic of business and human rights.
We have interacted with and participated in advocacy with the Ministry of Foreign Relations (which is in charge of the human rights agenda in Uruguay) and with some state-owned enterprises that are introducing processes for human rights policy, like the Uruguayan mail system (Correo Uruguayo) and state water supply agency (Aguas de Uruguay).
We also work with the United Nations system for creating spaces for dialogue and training, advocacy and articulation regarding the Binding Treaty, to encourage the Uruguayan government to support the drafting and negotiation of the agreement in Geneva.
